What I Do During Long Rides
Long rides don't have to be painful. In fact, they can be pure entertainment with a bonus of fitness benefits!
Music is My Riding Companion
One of my favorite things about long rides? Listening to music! Of course, safety first — I always use transparency mode or my Meta glasses with bone conduction sound so I can hear my surroundings. Being aware of traffic and what's happening around you is non-negotiable.
Apple Music Radio All the Way
I'm a huge fan of Apple Music radio stations during my rides. My go-to? J-Pop Radio. Did I mention I grew up in Japan? There's something special about riding to those upbeat Japanese melodies that just makes the kilometers fly by.
It's About the Journey, Not the Destination
Here's the thing that took me a while to learn: the ride itself IS the entertainment. We often get so focused on the destination — the coffee stop, the summit, the finish line — that we forget to enjoy the actual riding.
The wind in your face, the scenery changing around you, your favorite songs playing, the rhythm of your pedals... that's the good stuff. The fitness benefits? That's just a bonus.
Remember
It's not about the destination, but the journey.
So next time you're heading out for a long ride, don't dread the hours ahead. Set up your playlist, make sure you can still hear your surroundings (safety first!), and enjoy every moment of the journey.
Happy riding! 🎵🚴
